      Hi there,
I'd like to build a home pfSense server and came across the following motherboard:
      ASRock H110 Pro BTC+
      https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/H110%20Pro%20BTC+/

I'm wondering if this is a good motherboard to run pfSense on, it does have an Intel gigabit controller embedded.

My other question relates to network interfaces. This motherboard has 12 PCIe 2.0 x1 ports and one PCIe 3.0 x16 port. My knowledge regarding PCIe is limited to say the least and I'm not sure what would be a good network interfaces that's compatible with PCIe 2.0 x1. I'm looking to add at least 4 network interfaces, either by adding a single NIC with 4 ports or multiple NICs with single ports.

I hope someone can help me with finding the correct NIC as I'm totally lost in the PCIe web and I'm not sure which interface will work with what PCIe type.

Thank in advance for helping me out.

1 lane of PCIe 2.0 is good for 4Gbps so multiport cards should be no issue.

Other than that I have particular insight into that board.

        Steve
