pfSense 2.4.4 installed on ESXi 6.7U1

OS was regularly updated and on latest production version AFAIK

Was running fine until recently web gui practically wouldn't load - if it ever did come up, it would take several minutes

Tried restarting web configurator from SSH
    Tried rebooting VM
    Tried rebooting VM Host

None appeared to make any change

System still appeared to function normally with exception of web GUI.

Is this a common problem? I noticed another thread that went into some detail, but it was locked.

I've seen WebGUI slow to a crawl when DNS wasn't working, but that was back in the 2.2.x days.

DNS appears to be working fine...

Pretty hard to monitor or adjust settings without web gui

What about console access? What happens when you run top?
