Squidguard using OPT1 link instead gateway group
-
Hello, folks!
I have a squidguard configured with WINBIND NTLM authentication, White and Black list on target categories. When I manually set the proxy address on Windows configs, the users navigates in a OPT1 link, but when I remove those proxy settings, users navigates in WAN.
What is happing? How do I set the proxy users to use the gateway group instead a specific link?

Traffic going via Squid will always use the system default route unless you have added a specific source IP as an advanced option.
If clients not set to use the proxy specifically are leaving via a different gateway it sounds like they are not using the proxy at all. Maybe you have a policy routing firewall rule they are hitting.Steve

Hey Steve, tks for the help at all.
I do not have any specific route for that non-proxy users - so they will traffic normally at system default route, but I figured out that I was having issues with my own links.
I'll check that out again and post later. -
Hey Steve, I've checked my ISP and they're OK now, but I'm still facing this issue. Any help?

Oh my, I realized that I'm calling you by wrong name, sorry, Stephen!

No problem, I go by either.
If traffic from Squid is leaving by a different interface either Squid is set to run on that IP directly or clients not using Squid are not using the default gateway for some reason.
We would need to see your routing table, gateway setup and LAN side firewall rule to know more.Steve
