      Hi,

We are installing a new pfSense firewall in a quarter rack in a data center.
The rack is supplied with a single cat5 drop and I was given a block of IP address in /28.
In pfSense, when I assign the wan interface do I select yeas for setting vlan? The DC told me that the vlan associated to our block of ip is vlan221. Do I set vlan 221 as a parent of igb0 or do I not bother with the vlan part?

      Thank you

That entirely depends on what your DC built for you.

It sounds like you might need to answer 'yes' to setup VLANs and then add VLAN ID 221 with igb0 as the parent, and then assign that as WAN, using an IP address from your subnet, with the correct mask, and then set the ISP gateway they gave you as the gateway.
