NTP server not working
-
I am unable to make use of pfSense's NTP server.
When running ntpdate 192.168.1.1 (my pfSense box) from a FreeBSD client I get
23 Mar 23:02:39 ntpdate[1510]: no server suitable for synchronization found
The client is running FreeBSD 12.0
pFsense version is 2.3.5-RELEASE-p2 (amd64)
I do not have any pfsense time servers listed as Time Servers
Status -> NTP shows
Network Time Protocol Status

I have 3 different time servers listed.

That should work by default. Either you have not selected ntp to listen on that interface or there are firewall rules blocking the requests.

Is there something missing in my setup?Yeah - your version ;) Update to current.. Its pointless for anyone to spend any time figuring out your problem if you can not be be bothered to be current.. 2.3.5 is EOL.
The whole 2.3 line was warned for over a year that EOL and you should update.

https://www.netgate.com/blog/pfsense-release-2-3-x-eol-reminder.htmlThis is what I'm told from
Status/Dashboard -> System Information -> Version :-
Version 2.3.5-RELEASE-p2 (amd64) built on Thu May 10 15:03:32 CDT 2018 FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p29 The system is on the latest version. Version information updated at 2019-03-24 17:57

And its not current.. 2.4.4p2 is current... 2.3.x is EOL... I showed you the blog post...
What does it show in your update branch
There are plenty of threads on this..
Worse case, take a backup of your config - clean install and restore your backup.

It still should work be default in 2.3.5 but, yeah, if you've found some edge case that somehow doesn't it's not going to be fixed there ever.
