Home business SSL and public/private domain(s) setup
-
Hello All,
I have a home-based business. I've been expanding my network capabilities but I've come across an area where I have little to no experience- certificates and private/public domains- and hoping I can get your advice on a starting point. Forgive me for my ignorance if I don't use the correct terminology.
My scenario:
- I want to get SSL up and running on my pfSense firewall and my home NAS.
- I have a public domain, mycompany.com. I have an internal domain, mycompany.lan.
- I have a dynamic WAN IP.
Given this environment, what would be your recommendations on the first steps?
I've seen some discussions on the forum in using Let's Encrypt but I don't know if I could use that same cert on my firewall and NAS.
My company domain has a free SSL. Can I use that one on my internal LAN?
I've been procrastinating on this for a long while now and need to get it done once and for all.
Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations you can provide.
