Following the installation of a m.2 ssd, I need to reinstall pfsense. However, regardless by wich means I create the usb-key (tried the etcher for example) the system hangs at loading/boot/defaults/loader.conf… Any ideas?

That sounds like it's loading the wrong console settings which is most likely from the wrong image. You need the serial console specific image.

          Steve

Edit: Looks like this was solved in a support ticket. 👍

With the right image file things tend to be a lot easier🤔 . As usual, the issue with any hardware is generally sitting behind it; in this case me🤦 .

Anyway, with the right image, the installation was a breeze and so was getting the setting up and running. The tweaking and details will follow in the days to come.

In any case, help was quick and effective so I'm perfectly happy.
