      hi guys
i setup pfsense as my CP service to allow guest user access to the internet.
i disable DNS resolver and configure DNS forwarder to forward all requests to my internal DNS server which also host my internal DNS zone.
client can access to any resource on the internet and every thing is fine until i try to connect to my internal web site.
i found pfsense do not asnwser to client those record that are binding to my private ip address in my mycompany.com zore on DNS server.
that is so nice Pfsense block query that is binded to private Ip address, but how can i control this behavior ?
      here is my network diagram
Pfsense does not answer www.mycompany.com DNS query but it answer Mail.mycompany.com

      thanks

First what I would do is reconfigure so pfsense is the dns server for internet lookups. Then from there just forward queries to your local domains to your separate dns server. That should be more efficient/performant.

In what way are you forwarding the queries?

        pfSense CE 2.8.0

By either disable rebind protection or set your domain as private.

Pfsense is not the only server for providing internet access to user, we have 3 other mikrotik device that are used as like hotspot so installing a windows server in core mode is the best plan for us.

            nice behavior thanks
