Speed issues on optional interfaces
-
I have tried a few different snapshots of 2.0 and am having only 1 recurring problem.
I have a Xeon 2.0Ghz firewall with 2 GB Ram, 3 disk scsi raid 5, 6 1Gb interfaces for various internal DMZs and 1x 24MB dsl line.
100MB Nic is Wan 213.94.x.x and additional ip range from 87.198.x.1 to 87.198.x.16
GB Nic 1 is Lan 10.10.1.x
GB Nic 2 is San Storage 10.10.0.x
GB Nic 3 is Webservers Bridged with Wan range 87.198.x.x
GB Nic 4 is Workshop 10.10.2.x
GB Nic 5 is Blade Servers 10.10.3.x
GB Nic 6 is VOIP PBX 10.10.4.xWhen I do a speed test from the lan interface to the internet i am getting anywhere from 12 to 22 Mbps even with no other traffic on the optional interfaces but when I do a speed test from any of the other 5 interfaces i get a max of 3 - 3.5 Mbps
I have tried to enable and disable the traffic shaper, enable and disable the proxy server but nothing seems to make any difference.
Cpu usage is anywhere from 0% to 18% never maxed out
Ram usage is about 48% averageAny ideas what this problem may be?
This worked fine with 1.2.2 but much more pleased with features of 2.0 and not keen to revert back.
Cheers.

Can you paste /tmp/rules.debug and config.xml?
-
I can but I will have to edit out a lot of ip addresses first….......
-
Send private to me!

If you are not using nat-reflection please disable it, first.
With what do you test your speed? You have to specify that in order to have a clear answer.
-
with nat reflection disabled lan speedtest is 12982kbps
opt1 is 3428kbps
opt2 is 3286kbps
opt3 is 1974kbps and 2926kbps on second attempt.I am going to try uninstall squid and see if it makes any difference.
-
1 - With what do you do your speed test?
2 - From your config i do see only one WAN or am i missing something?
3 - You are using squid and without multiwaning it i do not see how you are testing the other links(if you have other WANs)!?
-
I have 1 wan a 24Mbps dsl
I have 6 internal lans, Lan, Opt1, Opt2 …......Opt5 all using 1 wan
i use speedtest.net and speedtest.magnet.ie for speedtests on each of the lan interfaces
Squid was installed to proxy and filter 1 of the lan subnets. Opt5 i think..

Can you try a latest build since the drivers about re/rl interfaces have been updated and should give improvements.
-
Yup, problem seems to be sorted after latest build. Getting minimum of 12mbps download on all interfaces now…
