    Hi myself Lokesh Kamath.

We have 3 Unit's. 1 Lease Line (ILL) & 2 Point to Point (P2P) connections.

We are using 1 PFSENSE for Firewall, Gateway, DNS, DHCP.

While P2P fiber cut, very difficult to work in other 2 unit's. So we configured P2P system IP address as manual.

My question here is can we put 2 PFSENSE box and configure DHCP in both PFSENSE box and different IP pool?
    Example:
    DHCP 1 Pool: 10.8.1.50 - 10.8.1.99
    DHCP 2 Pool: 10.8.1.110 - 10.8.1.199

Is this type configuration is possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks & Reagrds
    Lokesh Kamath

As long as the pool addresses are within the network range and they don't conflict with any static address configuration, yes. It's entirely possible to have multiple DHCP servers on a network and is often done on large networks. You could even assign them the same pool, as devices are supposed to do Duplicate Address Detection (DAD), before using an address.

      I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

          Hi all,

One more suggestion required on the same.

          DHCP 1: 192.168.1.1 - WAN
          DHCP 1: 10.8.1.50 - 10.8.1.99 - LAN

          DHCP 2: 10.8.1.110 - 10.8.1.199 - LAN

In DHCP 2 WAN IP i should give 10.8.1.110 or leave blank?

          Thanks in advance.

No WAN side not connected. This additional pfsense is only for LAN purpose.

Then other than DHCP server, what's it supposed to do? I only see one LAN on it. If that's all there is, it won't be doing much else.
