Behind Pfsense Slow my Download Speed
-
Internet Speed Behind pfsense 2mb DL and 20mb UL, my ISP Speed is 20mb UL and DL.
Encounter this a few days ago, for this past 2 years I have no problem with the internet speed. my Set up is ISP > SG-2440 > Switch > USER.
Testing -
1.Test ISP on the modem zyxel with 20mb DL and 20mb UL, im getting the full Speed.
2.Try to to check Hardware checksum offloading, still getting 1-2mb DL but UL is consistent 20mb
3.Try to replace cable of my wan
4.Try LAN and WAN speed duplex to (auto select)
this is my interface setting
hopefully you can help me.
Thank you in advance -
You say this started a few days ago, but has been running like normal, like you are expecting, for a couple of years. So, did you recently tweak some firewall rules, or install a new package, or update an existing package, or even do the 244-p3 upgrade?
Has anything changed on your firewall at all, except this new behavior, in the last week or so?

Recently i just remove the anti-lock rule and give access for some IP address to the web GUI.

Is this in a production network, like are there piles of computers behind the firewall and they all need to do their day-to-day work? If so, leave things alone for right now until you can work on the problem.
If not, I would reset the pfsense box to factory defaults, add some of the basic settings thru the wizard setup screens (DON'T add DNS servers in the setup process), and then do some additional testing.

Normally, on big networks or 'serious network' you only hookup trusted devices on LAN - the rest on OPTx interfaces, where you block 'GUI' access always.

@Janiboy probably signed a contract with the G**gle guys. Something like : " all my (private) DNS request against $$ ....".
(If not, why would one use a forwarder ? ) -
