      Hi,

i've a XG-7100 pfsense pair, carp configured. Today i want upgrade from 2.4.4_2 to 2.4.4_3. It's looks good in the console screen. After reboot the screen shows the following error message:

      Booting form Hard Disk...harddrive_index=0
      /boot/config: -S115200 -h
      invalid format

      FreeBsd/x86 boot
      Default: 0:ad(0,a)/boot/kernel/kernel
      Boot:
      /

      ...and nothing happens.....

      any idea?

the second pfsense is running well with old version!!

      Regards,
      Norbert

You did a Backup before the Upgrade?
I'd just grab the correct Image (pfSense-netgate-memstick-XG-7100-2.4.4-RELEASE-p3-amd64.img.gz) and do a reinstall, you should be up and running again after 5 Minutes.

@Rico Where can i get the right version you said? Sorry, i'm new in this forum! I've no backup, but a second appliance, which is running and now the carp master. So, if i get the old master back online, the config will be copied? Thanks Rico

Signup and open a Ticket here: https://go.netgate.com/support/signup to get the Image.
After you downloaded the Image try with the 'Recover config.xml" Option first: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/backup/automatically-restore-during-install.html

@Rico ok, i've opened a ticket and hopefully i will get the image soon! Could also be, that the HDD crashes!

After getting the right image, i only have to copy this file to a empty USB Stick?

              Thanks, Rico

Yes, but you can get detailed information for reinstalling the XG-7100 here: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/xg-7100/reinstall-pfsense.html
