Our bandwidth was just upgraded from 250/10 to 1000/35. We had to replace our Docsis 3.0 modem with a Docsis 3.1 modem.

Some research had told us our SG-2220 would top out around 600 to 700 Mbps so we ordered a SG-3100 which arrives tomorrow.

Much to our surprise, the SG-2220 is delivering around 950 to 975 Mbps.

Did our research incorrectly lead us to believe the SG-2220 would not deliver above 600 to 700 Mbps?

Would we be better off keeping the SG-3100 anyway?

I would keep the SG-3100; something nice about having a "stand by" device if something breaks.

Yeah, having a backup did cross our mind. That's most likely what we'll do.
