We have a box that is on a dynamic IP address. (why isn't important, it was the only option)
When the lease renewed a few month ago, mass confusion broke out as pfsense didn't try to get a new lease, hence nobody had access to the internet.

It took a few reboots, but it finally got a new IP addr.

This location has been informed of an upcoming equipment update that I expect will renew the leases again.

Trying to plan ahead, is there a more appropriate way to get pfsense to initiate a new WAN ip addr?

Normally that would happen automatically. But depending on the WAN type, rebooting the modem/CPE would probably help.
