DHCP Passthrough

  • I have my pfsense box with a public ip behind my ATT router.

As of lately i noticed that my pfsense box is no longer handing out DHCP addresses and all of my devices are getting IPs from my ATT router.

I checked and the DHCP forwarder\relay does not seem to be turned on. That setting is all i can think of that would force clients to bypass the pfsense dhcp.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • @eviltomato

DHCP requests are broadcasts and shouldn't pass through a router. How could they pass through pfSense? Perhaps you should describe your configuration.

  • I had block private networks unchecked on the wan side. checked the box and its fixed. Thanks

  • That doesn't make sense unless your WAN and LAN are on the same network, which shouldn't be the case.
