I still have periodic issues with the SG-1000. Biggest problem is if the power ever goes out, it seems like the system always needs a lot of work to get running again.

So I'm looking at the new SG-3100 possibly - does anyone know if it's config compatible? For example get a new unit, restore the config xml backup, and I'd be good to go?

      Thanks in advance.

Yes, should be straight import the config and reassign the interfaces.

The SG-3100 has a switch but it doesn't need any switch config by default.

The SG-1100 does though in case you decided to use that instead.

Hi, found your question almost year after it was posted. So this is just for the record.

I had the opposite situation and it worked fine. I had SG-2220 which broke and I recovered its backup using a spare, SG-1000. It worked fine, I just had to accept the proposed changes to exclude a NIC that was NOT present at SG-1000. It was all presented during the restoration process. Everything else worked fine, so all aliases and rules were preserved. I named it "hardware downgrade".
