Can this be done in DHCP settings?
-
I would like to have the DHCP server serve a link to preseed files for automated linux installs.
According to docs this is what I should add to ics' dhcpd.conf.
if substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 3) = "d-i" { filename "http://host/preseed.cfg"; }
Is there a way to do this in pfsense, maybe with some of the advanced dhcp options?

Not at this time.

Is there even a DHCP option for that? The closest thing I've heard of is connecting to a TFTP server.

https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/2983OK, thanks a lot.
So basically the recommended way of doing it, and any other customization that can't be done by the gui, would be to add a patch (in the system_patches package)?

It's one of the recommended ways of doing fully automatic installations of debian and derivatives.
