Is anybody using Intel X550-T2 NIC's - Do they have the same ixl driver (VLAN) issue as the intel Intel X710 10G?

      Re: Intel X550-AT supported?

We're currently having the issue (like lots of people) with the SuperMicro onboard Intel 10G NIC's being unstable during any VLAN related operations (we have it in a LAG).

We plan to try and move to a X550-T2 (pull it from another server this weekend) however I thought I would just check if anyone knows if this NIC card also has the same issues caused by the ixl driver and the version of FreeBSD used in the latest pfSense.

FYI, see my post from last month related to the stability issues:

@stephenw10 I saw you reply to the last question on X550's so thought I would tag you.

      Thanks

The X550 should use the ix driver not the ixl driver so you won't see that same error.

@stephenw10 that is great news and well worth the pain of installing the new cards!

          Thanks for the quick reply

Great good to here @kiokoman, we are pulling the X550-T2's out of other servers as I type and so I hope I'm complete in the next few hours, FYI, we're doing LAGG's and VLAN's

i'm using vlans too.. only 5 vlans.
and no LAG on my side but i don't see why that should be a problem for the network card

@stephenw10 @kiokoman we completed the move to a new X550 LAGG with 3 VLAN's. All works well and the no longer have the "macvlan err of death" when performing interface related updates!!

FYI, we spotted a bug related to firewall rules breaking when moving interfaces which might already been known, but if I don't find a post I'll do a separate post so it might help someone in the future

                  Thanks again
