2.3.5 on HP T610 Plus
-
While installing pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-amd64.img on a HP T610 Plus I receive the same error and the installation cannot complete.
pci0:1:0:0: invalid VPD data, remain 0x19
Can anyone provide any ideas on what the output means and what I can do to complete the install? Thanks.

Can the HP T610 do a 64bit os?

I tried the pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-i386.img
and received the same scrolling error ad infinitum.pci0:1:0:0: invalid VPD data, remain 0x19
Any other ideas?

Any other ideas?Instead of charging the 32 bits version (very EOL anyway - even if it works you don't want to use it), load the 64 bit version.

Looks like others have run into the same issue doing a quick Google search..

I read that thread previously.

pfSense 2.3.5 installs fine with pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-amd64.img.
I will to upgrade try to 2.4.x and report back.FYI i also tried: pfSense-CE-memstick-2.4.3-DEVELOPMENT-amd64-20180117-1606.img
same stop.
He stated that pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-amd64.img installs for him. It does not for me.
These two do not either:
pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-i386.img
pfSense-CE-memstick-2.4.4-RELEASE-p3-amd64Any other ideas?

Look through you BIOS settings for USB settings..
It is difficult to tell from this end where in the boot up sequence you are when it stops.
-
Sure thing. The following is for the pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-amd64.img installation.
First, I disabled EFI Boot Sources and used only legacy. The USB is detected, the boot sequence begins, and then the scrolling error is thrown just seconds into the process.
Second, I enabled EFI, disabled Legacy Boot for USB only, and see that the USB drive is not detected at all.
So the USB is detected under Legacy Boot but hangs.
Update
By removing the Allied Telesis 2711FX PCI-Express Fiber Card the installation started normally.
Pictures of the card:

__Now that it is confirmed that pfSense-CE-memstick-2.3.5-RELEASE-amd64.img will start the installation without the card I am going to test pfSense-CE-memstick-2.4.4-RELEASE-p3-amd64 without the card.
Any ideas on proceeding with an install with support for the Allied Telesis 2711FX?
-
Install it to disk and then try to install the card after that.. I imagine some form of interrupt conflict..
Is this card an addon you did?
-
I completed the install with pfSense-CE-memstick-2.4.4-RELEASE-p3-amd64.img
I put the Allied Telesis 2711FX back in and it goes back into a panic.
Seems others have run into no support for this card in freebsd.
