PfSense Vsphere redundancy LAN problem?

Install PfSense on two separate machines, each running VSphere. Follow all procedures for virtual machine configurations. Apparently everything is working normally. Moving or restarting the primary server and backup takes over. I leave running a continuous ping to a ping follows a good scenario. Please contact if I disable the main switch server LAN cable, or ping to respond as if the firewall backup does not assume a LAN, but continue with my machine connected to the same switch as the two firewalls. Strange ... turns off or restarts the MASTER machine, or ping keeps responding, but disables your network cable, no longer works.
Does anyone know the reason and is there any fix for this?
