I just ordered a MSI IM-945GSE-A card, with 2 onboard Intel 82574L nic's. From another thread in here I read that Intel 82574L is recognized and works well under freebsd 7.1. Cool.

Now I just found a mini pci-e card with the same nic: http://www.globalamericaninc.com/product_info.php?products_id=1507780
I really need 4 nic's, and believe this pci-e card is a better choise than a dual nic card in a single PCI slot?

Will it work? Are bandwidth specifications the same for mini pci-e as for traditional pci-e x 1?

MiniPCIe interface contains 1 lane of PCI express, so performance should be equivalent to a fullsized PCIe 1x slot. I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work.
