SG-1100 and two USB WIFI Adapters?
-
I just purchased an SG-1100 for travel, and I was hoping to use two USB WIFI Adapters on the ports in the front. I tested this with a very generic USB Adapter, but I don't know where to set it up? Maybe that its not where I would expect to see it.
Can anyone help me to set up a USB WIFI Adapter? Where in the settings would I go? I checked under interfaces then wifi, no devices showed up. Is there something more that I need to do? Drivers etc?

What are you trying to do with these wifi adapters - connect to them to access the firewall with wireless devices, or use this wifi to connect the entire firewall to an access point at say a hotel, library, coffee shop, or somewhere else?

If the adapter is supported, it should show up when you go to interfaces, assign. There are only a few wireless usb adapters that will work under FreeBSD/pfSense.

@dotdash Thanks, do you know where I can get such a list of supported adapters? I tried to search, but for the life of me can't find anything.

Check here: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/wireless/supported-wireless-cards.html
Edit- looks like it would have to be a ralink chipset -
You would have to assign the adapters as wireless interfaces in Interfaces > Assign > Wireless before they become available to assign as a logical interface.

I was able to use a single buffalo usb wifi dongle in the OTC power (but couldn't get enough power for two dongles at once). We use FreeBSD as the base OS, pfSense rely's on the driver support for wifi from FreeBSD.

In the SG-1000? The SG-1100 has two full size USB ports and power should not be an issue.
