Build ISO vs DEVISO differences???
-
Hi,
I'm building pfsense and just wanted to confirm my suspicions about the difference between the iso and deviso, since the build guide on the wiki doesn't explain it. I'm guessing the iso is a normal, installable pfsense as would be distributed, and the deviso is exactly the same but has a development environment on it (a compiler, make etc…) - is this the only difference?
Is there any difference in security and robustness between them? If I'm installing and HDD space is not a problem, would I be better off installing the deviso in case I need a compiler on the box in future, or are there good reasons to just install the plain pfsense.iso?
thanks
