update page won't display
-
I came across a weird issue when looking at one of my pfsense machines - the Update page forwards immediately to the Installed Packages page. When I select "Update" from the System menu, hovering over the link shows the correct "https://firewall/pkg_mgr_install.php?id=firmware" link, but then upon clicking takes me right to "https://firewall/pkg_mgr_install.php" so I can't check for a base system update. The unit is running 2.4.4p3, so it's up to date, but I thought this was weird - has anyone seen this, and if so, how did you remedy? I already tried the basic "Upgrade not offered" and "rewrite repository" steps offered here: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/upgrade-troubleshooting.html and I've restarted webconfigurator and PHP-FHM, and the behavior persists.
I was going to try an fsck reboot as a next step but I'd prefer to be onsite for that and I won't be for several hours.

A fsck reboot seems to have restored expected behavior, although there are no entries in the system log about fsck, so I doubt there was any filesystem issue. Weird.

I have occasionally seen that. That page is what shows when it is running a firmware upgrade since that is also pkg based. If you see that page it is because a pkg update is already running and it's trying to show you the output from that.
When I have seen it it's because the process has stalled for some reason. I would expect a reboot to clear it or you can usually manually kill the existing update process and restart it.Steve
