I have a device that doesn't have proxy/vpn capabilities, it can only get a DHCP IP and nothing more. I need that device to use a remote VPN network for its networking without disrupting anything else on the LAN.

I know the whole firewall could use a remote VPN but I don't know if it can be set up to do it for one LAN client device only.
I suppose I could set up a little firewall that the device could use and that firewall could be VPN connected to something remote but I was wondering if there is any way of doing this without needing another machine.

Sure. You can setup an OpenVPN connection and then policy route only one client across that. You would just need to make sure that client used a fixed dhcp lease so it always had the same IP.
