The last couple of times I've logged into pfSense I've got messages about commercial usage and links to a survey.
Whats causing this and is pfSense downloading this in the background ?

I've not updated for a while, so it must be pulling this in ?

      Thanks

pfSense pull's in regularly some information like the "bogons list", the list with updates packages and :
This part of the screen :

The text and the page where the links link to is regularly re fetched.
It's used to send out notifications to the 'admin' user when he logins in.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Yeah it pulls in the copyright message and checks it's hash against the message that's stored locally. If it has changed it displays the new message.
In this case we wanted to get the survey link out to users so updated the message to include it.

Unfortunately the initial link was bad so it was corrected. Some users might have seen the pop-up twice.
