First of all: I'm a complete newbie on firewalls.
I have now installed pfsense on a Netgate XG-1537, but I have a question about it: we have a fixed IP address with our ISP (XX.XX.XX.XXX), but when I try to configure the WAN as 'static' I can only reach Google websites. When I configure the WAN as 'DHCP' all internet traffic succeeds. What's the problem?

When you did static configuration, did you set DNS servers in System > General?

Yes, but I used the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 - 8.8.4.4)

Are you setting a very large subnet mask when configuring it as static? The ISP should have provided that information to you.
