      Hi All,

I have the Netgate 3100 and installed it last weekend. I am having problem printing to my HP 8600 Office Jet printer. The printer uses an Ethernet connection and shows its connected to the network (ip 10.0.0.39 within the range that was setup). But when I print to it, I get a printer error. The only way to print is to remove the drivers and reload. This then allows me to print, but the next day the printer errors again. Has anyone had this issue? If so, what solved the problem.

      Thanks,

      Rick

@rweiser Can you ping the printer? Did you allow clients to communicate with it via your LAN firewall settings?

If the computer and printer are on the same network, then pfSense is not involved, other than as a DHCP server. Given that reloading the drivers fixes the problem, the it's obviously something to do with the computer. Once the devices get a DHCP address, you could remove pfSense completely from the network and it wouldn't make any difference.

          I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

@JKnott The issue is not pfsense. Its the printer drivers. I thought is was the router because it started after I installed the router.

            Thanks for your help!
