How to modify notifications

Advanced Options

Weight: Weight for this gateway when used in a Gateway Group. See How Can I Load Balance Uneven WAN Connections.

Latency Thresholds: An alarm and down threshold for latency, specified in milliseconds (ms). The default values are 200 (alarm) and 500 (down)

Packet Loss Thresholds: An alarm and down threshold for packet loss, specified in percentage (%). The default values are 10% (alarm) and 20% (down)

Probe Interval: How often an ICMP echo probe will be sent to the monitor IP address, in seconds. Default is 1 second.

Down: The number of seconds of failed probes before the alarm will fire. Default is 10, but higher values such as 30 or 60 may yield better results on unstable WANs.

The gateway advanced options.

System > Routing > Gateways. Edit the gateway, expand the advanced options.

Yeah, you can set those per gateway. Often useful to tune the thresholds for different line conditions especially if you have a wireless WAN or even a satellite connection.

Oh ... I overlook this button every time again ^^

But:
What are the differences between the trigger levels?
Is it possible to modify the message (see first post) which i receive from the pfsense?

I use the "member down" option at the trigger level on Gateway Groups tab. Nevertheless, I get mails when there is a package loss. How so?

The trigger option is for the gateway action, so removing it from a gateway group or reloading packages.
The alerts that cause the trigger can be modified, so allowing more packet loss or greater latency before triggering.

I don't know of any way to set those specifically for notifications.

It's open source you can change anything you want.

There's no way to change that via the normal pfSense config though, you would need to edit the file that generates it.
