How does one install the man pages in pfSense 1.2.3-RC1?  I've tried logging into the shell, running sysinstall, Changing the Release Name to 7.1-Release, Configure->Distributions->man, however after installation, I still dont' seem to have a binary for man anywhere.

I tried searching the wiki, but I can't seem to find something that indicates how to install man pages on the system.

      Thanks,

      Eric

If it helps, the man pages for FreeBSD can be found on the FreeBSD web site.

Thanks - I realize that.  However sometimes it's nice to just be able to type man XXX within the same shell and not have to worry about needing / opening a web browser, etc…

I figured it would be easy to install the man package, but I just can't seem to find the package that contains the man (and related) binaries

          Thanks!

          Eric

It isn't a package, it's part of the base install for FreeBSD.  Since it's been stripped out of pfSense there's no simple way of adding it back.

Wow.  I would never have guessed that.  That's a shame; man pages are so useful…

              Thanks anyhow,

              Eric
