Sorry if this is wrong place to post, but I'm not sure what would be better.

I'm using pfSense with squid's cache on a second drive, da1, and I'd like to monitor the disk i/o, but iostat doesn't exist and I'm afraid to install packages because I think it might break something else. I've looked at using SNMP, but when I walk the mib, I don't see anything about disk i/o.

Any suggestions?

checkout the binary systat

systat -vm systat -vm 5
systat -io 5

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=systat&apropos=0&sektion=0&manpath=FreeBSD+7.1-RELEASE&format=html

good luck

Thanks, xibalba.

This will be sufficient for present purposes.

If anyone knows how to get SNMP working for disk I/O, it would be appreciated.
