      Hi,

      lately the German Telekom disabled ICMP on their gateways. So pinging the gateway to watch the link isn't exactly helpful anymore.

      The DNS-Servers on the other hand ...

      So if we could set the config so that dpinger would pick a DNS-Server and ping that one, the problem would be fixed.

      Yes, I can enter just another IP-Address and ping something, but using the DNS-Servers of the provider in the same AS saves traffic and is more clean.
