hi. I changed the coin battery in the watchguard firebox x core 550E. I will no longer boot into the pfsense system and seems to hang on the following line, under PCI device listing, bus No: 1, Device no 4, Func No 0, EN/Decryption Cntrlr, irq 11.

Please can someone help me on this, as I would really like to get this up and running. It is PFsense B7

      thanks

Hmm, been a while but I think in B7 you still had to set heads to 2 in the IDE settings in the BIOS to boot larger CF cards.
That would have been lost when you changed the CMOS battery.

B8 does not have that restriction, you can leave the IDE channel set to auto and it will boot any sized CR card (within reason!).

However that appliance is now ancient in computing terms. It's 32bit so you can only run pfSense 2.3.5 which is obsolete.
You should consider replacing it entirely.

I got my hands on one of the last ones ever built which replaced a unit under warranty days before Watchguard quit them altogether. That was over ten years ago and it served me well until we out grew it. (Could not transfer speeds we do today with all our subnets and VPN's) Ran Watchguard software for just under a year before becoming a pfsense box.

Ancient is very true at this point.
