I figured out how to edit etc/fstab using VI and add noatime to existing pfSense installations as I upgrade them to 2.4.5, but, I have started using ZFS on a lot of new installations.

Is there an equivalent for ZFS installations or does the standard ZFS file system install already have atime=off (which seems to be the ZFS equiavlent)?

      Thanks!

It seems to be off by default. This is on a fresh installation of 2.4.5 with the default pool name zroot:

        [2.4.5-RELEASE][root@..]/root: zfs get atime zroot
        NAME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE
        zroot atime off local

I'm pleased to see atime is off already on a 2.4.4 ZFS file system install.

            Yah!

            [2.4.4-RELEASE][admin@...]/root: zfs get atime zroot
            NAME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE
            zroot atime off local
