    Just got Xfinity installed at house. Setting ther xFi advanced gateway modem/router to bridge mode. What settings should i put in the WAN section of my pfSense as was previously using PPPoE (i know.. so old school). So what do the settings get changed to?

    Thanks.

      dhcp. both IPv4 and IPv6.

      Make sure you reboot the modem if you change the device directly behind it. Such as testing with a laptop then changing to your router.

        @chpalmer

        What if I have a server that hands out dhcp?

          That's completely separate the the dhcp client that runs on WAN. There should be no interaction between them. Unless your network wiring is badly wrong! 😉
