      HI:

I have been upgrading for awhile now from many different major and minor versions successfully. Now however I had an issue were a crash/bug was reported below is a link to the uploaded file:

      [0_1585416738242_PHP_errors.log](Uploading 100%)

Next in the version page it says: Running a newer version.

So my current version is newer than 2.4.4-p3 but indeterminate.

Note I did not uninstall all the packages before the upgrade. Using quite a few.

What would be the best course of actions?

Connectivity is working! But snort is not and will not start.

I did a backup as instructed.

Should I re-intall? Will the backup keep the configuration of only pfsense or also of the packages? Or do I have to re-install AND re-configure all the applications or just re-install and the configurations like snort should come back?

      I know I am asking a lot!

This happened at my home but I support several companies that use pfSense.

      Thank you,

      David

      ================================================

      Update:

I have since uninstalled all the packages and I performed a command line upgrade but I still get this the message on the update screen:

      pfSense_Update_Scree-2020-03-28_16-22-13.png

Any ideas other that re-installing 2.4.4_3 and restoring the configuration from backup?

And yes I still get the same errors

It is now a few hours later and I have completed the suggestion in other posts to follow the instructions in the following link:

      Upgrade Troubleshooting

Everything worked and nothing changed the situation till the last step:

      Forced pkg Reinstall

      1. Make a backup

      2. Clean the repository and forcefully reinstall pkg, repo data, and the upgrade script:

      pkg-static clean -ay; pkg-static install -fy pkg pfSense-repo pfSense-upgrade

      3. Force a reinstall of everything:

      pkg-static upgrade -f

      4. Review the list of changes and enter y to proceed

      5. Manually reboot the firewall

And then I restored the backup of 2.4.4_3 and everything so far is good!!!!

I will post another update in a as I check everything out. I had over 12 packages installed.

Snort wouldn't start here too, i had to uninstall and reinstall the package!

To all your other problems I can say anything.

I updated from the console just to be safe and I too got a PHP crash report.

It cannot find files needed in /usr/local/lib/php/20170718/

            PHP_errors.log.txt
