Gateways drop
-
Dear All,
I'm facing a problem that I have multiple gateways WANs, LAN, VPNs ..... etc
The problem is when there is any change in one of them (ex. WAN Gateway restart) makes pfSense and all other connections drops for a while which makes all the other gateways act as down then back.
WHY ? -

WHY ?I have the same issue on my pfsense, in fact any changes I make in any of the configurations and save changes, triggers this. The way I've found to recover is to click restart "dpinger" and it will recover to the previous settings. Not sure what is causing this.
It is not a do or die thing but it is definitely an issue that wasn't there with 2.4.4 p3.

Thanks @jdeloach for your reply. first of all i'm using the latest version pfSense 2.4.5. also, I want to ask you what do u mean by retraining the "dpinger" ?

@mohkhalifa restarting the services. Use services status widget on dashboard for convenience.
i would try disable the gateway monitor option. there is option for the gateway IP to monitor, to tell if online.
-
@Bambos Yes, I'm monitoring all the gateways with monitor IP to know that status of the gateways and I can't disable it.

Problem Solved by un-check "Flush all states when a gateway goes down" in the advanced setting.
-
@mohkhalifa wow, we have to note down this. good job mate.

That box is not checked on my pfSense. I think most of that is still set at the defaults. Never had a reason to change it.
At some point if all this doesn't get resolved, I'll just revert to pfSense 2.4.4 p3 till it's fixed.
