I manage 50+ virtual pfSense firewalls and in building a new one this weekend and updating to 2.4.5 everything looked good. Until this morning.

I use AD authentication so User Manager>Groups is pretty important to me.

I set up my groups fine after the upgrade. Adding permissions no problem.

This morning I needed to modify one of the groups and there is no "add" button. It's gone. Only a "save" button at the bottom. The trash cans in the Action column are missing as well.

This happens whether I'm logged in as admin or a user (AD authenticated)

My other 2.4.4p3 Vms are fine.

Bug? Or did my install go fubar?

If those buttons are missing then your account or group has the "Deny Config Write" privilege, which prevents it from making config changes. Did you accidentally add that privilege to a group (perhaps by selecting all on the privilege list instead of using the appropriate privileges)?

You are correct. Momentary lapse of reason. But that is also affecting the admin login as well. How do I fix it?

I assume I can delete the group and recreate it, but if there's an easier way....

Never mind. No option to delete either.

            Fixed. For posterity..

I edited Config.xml manually and removed the "Deny Config Write" Line.

Log out and back in. Fixed.
