      Hi,

The documentation (https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/xg-7100-1u/switch-overview.html) very clearly points out the connections inside the XG7100, which is very helpful. However, it does not seem to be documented how the expansion card (4 1Gbps ports) would fit in the diagram. Do they connect to uplink ports 9 and 10 as well, or does the PCI slot provide direct access to the Denverton SoC?

The expansion card does not interact with the switch. It provides a set of stand-alone ports.

Thanks for your reply. So just to clarify, these are 1Gbps ports at the same level as the ix0, ix1, ix2, and ix3 port from the OS point of view?

Yes, though check the docs for notes on how the ports appear: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/xg-7100-1u/io-ports.html#optional-4-port-intel-1-gbps-ethernet-expansion-card
