Can't update packages on 2.4.5
-
Good day everyone,
I've recently updated my pfsense box to 2.4.5 But when trying to update squid and traffic totals, I get stuck on "Please wait while the update system initializes"
I also tried uninstalling squid and it's the same thing. Is there any work around for this?
Thanks in advance.

Same problem too.
And lightsquid_web & snort modules can't start -
Run through the "CLI Troubleshooting" section of https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/install/upgrade-troubleshooting.html and anything else that looks relevant. Packages and updates use the same backend mechanism so the same troubleshooting steps apply.

All repositories are up to date. But in Web GUI updates are available:
This version is buggy, i even cant reboot pfsense via GUI. Is there any ways to back to 2.4.4 release with saving all settings? Or just fresh install and recovery from xml config file ?

XML file.... clean 2.4.4p3 install and restore and reboot. Then install the packages needed from scratch. Had me going this way.
Only way I could keep it flying.
-
Lol, after few system reboots pfsense has started normally work with all modules. Packages installs normally too.

Your using snort and squid at the same time ? I thought they were mutual exclusive.
Users using snort OR squid have issues lately. The forum has boatloads of useful information about it -

To be sure : look up all the 'snort' and 'squid' posts from the last 2 weeks or so.
You'll find a way to put things back in track.
