Hi everyone I hope your all well :)

Now I changed my ISP to NOWTV because it is cheaper and faster with free calls so all happy there.

There is Always a BUT lol

The NowTV Hub 2 does not come with modem mode which nearly killed me in anger because now I have to figure out a more complex way to make both routers work without messing it up.

Does Anyone know how to do it without modem mode?

Things like DMZ and DHCP I have not had to worry about before because I had modem mode.

I would be very grateful if someone told me a little step by step of how to set it up to my Pfsense router.

      Many Thanks in advanced :)

P.S It connects to a Sky Server BTW.

You have a link to this device? I assume it's still xDSL if it's from Sky?

What exactly is it you want to do here?

You can setup pfSense behind some other router/NAT device. Nothing special is required. Just make sure the private subnets don't conflict.

Many thanks for your reply Steve, your a star ;)
            Hope your well btw.

ok I put a screenshot of the part that baffles me lol

DMZ has always been one of the things that baffle me to.!

I'll attach a pic if it gives you an idea, do I do the DMZ their or on the Pfsense router, I know it is a dumb question but this router they give you is so rubbish.

Ok, so you want to either set a fixed dhcp lease in the NowTV router for the pfSense WAN or set a static IP in pfSense.
Then set that IP as the DMZ address in the NowTV router. It is like a 1:1 NAT rule but also with an allow all firewall rule. It will forward all traffic to the pfSense WAN. That means you can still have services running on pfSense that are externally accessible, like a VPN server.
You still have to be sure the internal subnet used by the NowTV router, which the pfSense WAN will be in, does not conflict with the pfSense LAN. Or any other internal interface in pfSense.

Of course, as you say, using a public IP directly would be far better. Is the service somehow tied to that router?

              Steve

Yeah, it isn't locked to that router you just need something that can do MPoA:

                Same as Sky's other services.

Like the Draytek V130 by the looks of it: https://www.reddit.com/r/PFSENSE/comments/dz1gh3/sky_uk/f8eaoll/

                I've never tried that myself...

O thanks, steve you're helping out a rusty old man here lol
PfSense I can do but this router NOWTV hub 2 is made so you can not do much with it.
I have heard you can use Wireshark to sniff. the admin password and so on as I googled it but it would be easy just to do it as you said.

It was the workaround I needed to learn so I could get back to my Pfsense router and you pretty much said it.

Many thanks, ill give it a try and see how I get on but so far Steve thank you for your help and hope you're well ;)
