      I'm running pfsense 1.2.3RC1 and the freeswitch package. I had some issues making things work yesterday, so I reinstalled freeswitch today and noticed the package version has changed.

      Some of yesterday's issues have been resolved and some have not. Some new issues have arisen. All this leaves me with some questions about the freeswitch package versioning. I see that we are not yet at a 1.0 release. How stable is it? Does it work in some cases? Are there features that are known to be broken? Is the package version that installs on pfsense 1.2.2 more stable then the version in 1.2.3RC1?

      I don't mean to sound critical and I do believe in doing my part to help a package mature, but I'm just wondering at this point if we really are in alpha with freeswitch or if it's just me in this case.

        I saw you message on IRC but didn't get to you in time before you were gone.

        The package is fairly stable all known bugs are fixed. I've considered making it a 1.0 release but haven't done it yet.

        Yes it works. Your problems are more likely operator error. I have it in production on eight systems that I maintain and have helped many people set it up for their needs.

        @clarknova:

        Are there features that are known to be broken?

        All reported problems are promptly fixed. if you are having problems with something please report details of what you are trying to do and what you are experiencing.

        pfSense 1.2.3RC1 is the best choice since it has a UDP patch in it that maintains UDP connections when using System -> Advanced -> Firewall Optimization -> Conservative.

        If you have problems please provide details on the forum or on IRC #pfSense-freeswitch.

        For priority needs commercial support is also available through the pfSense official support channel.

          Thanks for the clarification. I'll continue with the RC then.

          So will pfsense/freeswitch notify me when a package update is availabe? Or is the package version tied to the pfsense version?

            You can find if there is a new version available by going to System -> Packages -> Installed Packages and then look at the package version which will be highlighted in red when a new version is available. It will tell you the current and the installed version.
