I've just purchased and installed an SG-1100 box for my house, I'm a long time pfSense user, but I'm having a weird issue with this box and a Ubiquiti AC-Lite AP.

So the way my network at home is setup, it's pretty simple. I have a modem -> SG-1100 -> (LAN) PoE Injector to the AC-Lite. I've also configured the OPT port to be on the same VLAN as the LAN port.

What I'm seeing is random disconnects on the AC-Lite. Basically both pfSense and the AC-Lite logs show the same thing.

      AC-Lite Logs

Apr 23 21:54:58 kernel e6000sw0port2: link state changed to UP

I'm not sure which way to go next. I have used the LAN port hard wired and haven't had any issues. I've also tried a different PoE injector as well so I know that's not the issue. I don't know if there's a setting I'm missing or something here. Thanks for any help.

That's as close as it can get to a "physical removal" of the cable connection.
I understand that no one actually removed the cable, so it's probably a bad electrical connection, what boils down to the thing. Even bad power bricks can provoke such situations.

Start by placing a switch 'known to be good' between your SG1100 and your AP.
Your logs will now tell you on which side to look.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Mmm, that log line from the switch showing the port down can really only be caused by loss of link.

That looks like a bad cable or bad port on something maybe.

So interestingly enough, I've replaced all of the cables with brand new cables out of the pack and I still had the issue with the link dropping out. So even more interestingly, I placed a dumb switch between the access point PoE injector and the connection has been stable ever since. Can anyone explain this?

Bad port on the AP? Is that logging any disconnects still?
