Installing mongodb34 - modifying pkg repo
-
Hi all-
I'm currently on pfSense 2.4.5. I had been successfully running the Unifi controller application on my pfsense device for many years, and after a recent pfSense update (not exactly sure which one) the Unifi application stopped running -- the log indicated an inability to connect to the mongodb database. As part of my troubleshooting I tried removing the mongodb34 package and reinstalling, but when I went to reinstall I got an error as it's not in the repo. I'm assuming that I need to modify my pkg repo by overriding the default - is there a best practice way to do this so as not to royally break things?
Thanks in advance,
Darren David -
If you don't want to break things, don't do that at all.
The moment you start loading packages from other repositories, you're asking for trouble.

mongodb34 is not longer supported.. EOL Jan 2020..
So yeah it was prob pulled from repo... Run your controller on something else, or using VM to do such things as firewall and controller on the same hardware.
I got my controller using 3.6 running on a VM on my nas.. Just no place to run your controller on your firewall if you ask me.. Get yourself a clould key if you have no where to run it, or run it in the cloud..
