Ok so here is what happened. I bought 2x rosewill 1gigabit NICs. They are rubbish, as I often can't connect to the router, and also occasionally they cannot not get a ip from Comcast. Then I switched to, a 100megabit linksys nic, and a 100megabit netgear nic. They work fine. Now I am still getting 1 gigabit lan speeds between my computers because I have like 3, 1 gigabit switches in the way(I lan trasnferred to my server at 70 MB/s.) Would it make a performance difference if I switched to 1000 megabit nics? I mean my Internet is only 15megabits, I am going to get 30megabits from Comcast.
If so is this card compatible? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106121
I didn't see it in the compatibility list, thanks in advance. (PS I plan to use 1.23 RC1 if I get new NICS, which is what I am currently using)).

If you're going to buy a NIC, that's the (reasonably priced) one to get. It uses Intel 82541PI which is very well supported.

But going to 1000mbps isn't going to do anything for performance on your system. Switching to better (ie. Intel) NICs all around might gain you a small incremental increase, but it's probably negligible. If your existing configuration isn't causing any problems I'd just stick with it.
