I have installed CARP according to the wink tutorial with the exception of  preemption which is no longer valid as it is on by default.
The CARP failover status on the machine that is the master is correct, i.e. master on both the LAN & WAN interfaces. However, it also shows master on the LAN & WAN interfaces of the slave machine, even though the advertising frequency was setup correctly by the installation wizard, i.e. it is set to 0 on the master & 100 on the slave.

Is it safe to ignore this, or is something wrong? If so, is there a fix?
      Thanks,
      –Nick.
