      Hi,

I am hoping that someone can help me out here.

I am setting up a small home lab, and I am looking for some assistance with setting up IPv6 with Windows AD DNS.

My pfSense is configured for IPv6 on the WAN side, and the ISP IPv6 Addresses are being assigned to my devices.

The issue I am coming up against is with Windows DHCP and Windows DNS.

I have scope configured for IPv6 and IPv4, with the IPv4 I have no issues, all my devices are assigned an address and Windows DNS updates itself with the record for that device.

The issue I am finding is on the IPv6 side, when the Windows DHCP issues a IPv6 address, I am seeing it being issued to a device like say my Iphone, but in the DHCP server the address has no name associated to it.

Could this be occurring due to how I have my DHCP RA configured in pfSense? Currently I have it set to Assisted, but I am not sure if that would be the correct setting that should be getting used.

      Any help would be welcomed.
