      Hello,

I purchased my SG-5100 Netgate appliance a year ago. I have been running with minimal difficulties ever since, periodically updating pfSense and the packages I use. After an overnight shutdown, I re-booted my device and am currently experiencing complete failure. The device powers up, but the middle LED on the back panel remains bright red, indicating that the boot up has halted. I am unable to activate my network connections and cannot access the Web GUI for pfSense. I welcome any information that will help me recover my system.

Hook up the serial console to check what is going on: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-5100/connect-to-console.html
Could be a filesystem problem, from the console try to get in the single user mode and run fsck -y / again and again until no errors are reported.
If this doesn't help and you have a backup just reflash the device and restore your backup:
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-5100/reinstall-pfsense.html
        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/backup/configuration-backup-and-restore.html

To get the latest Image for your device get in touch with Netgate support: https://go.netgate.com

          Hello Rico,

Thank you for your response. I ran fsck approximately 10x at which point my system began running normally again. I wound up using screen at the command shell. Thank you!

Glad it worked for you and the SG-5100 is online again. :-)
