I have this laptop that I never use and decided to load pfSense on it. This is my first time installing pfSense anywhere, so I might be missing something.

It loads and installs fine, but when I'm assigning the interfaces it goes south. I am asked for the WAN name and I enter "nfe0" as it comes up as option. Then it asks for the LAN int name. Since there isn't a name in parenthesis I select "a". I connect the network cable and select enter. "Detected link-up on int nfe0" is displayed. This is where it goes south. An error comes up saying "The same interface name cannot be assigned twice!"

I would think that the LAN interface should be nfe1.

I was hoping to use the WAN interface to connect to my WiFi and the LAN interface to connect to my internal network. I am a Cybersecurity student and would like to become more familiar with pfSense.

      Thanks,
      Dave
