I suppose it has to do with the addtrust certificate ?
Until a few minutes ago I was also not able to update packages, but that was resolved. I still cannot update ddns though.

php-cgi: rc.dyndns.update: Curl error occurred: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired
php-fpm[8665]: /services_dyndns_edit.php: Curl error occurred: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired
      check_reload_status: Syncing firewall

        More testing :

No-IP (free) updates without trouble but I cannot access the webservers behind them.
Domains on namecheap are not updating.

I guess the only possible way is by skipping Certificate Validation
Access your freedns account > Dynamic DNS
Copy (Direct URL) of your chosen subdomain

Pfsense > Services > Dynamic DNS
Edit your entry or create new one
              Choose Service Type "Custom"
"HTTP API SSL/TLS" needs to be unchecked.
Paste your URL in "Update URL".

The problem seems to have been solved on my side.
Did a "save and force update" this morning with no change, tried again just now and it's updating!
